Bitmap Bureau have just posted a status update for the Neo Geo version of their game Final Vendetta. Apparently, they ran into manufacturing issues with the cartridges and rather than risk shipping something that doesn’t meet their standards, they kept delaying until the manufacturer got it right. They’re now expected to ship to customers by summertime and that’s including any new pre-orders that are placed right now. Check out the full press release and links to pre-order here:

Look, we’re all human and I’m sure delays annoy us all. But I truly think Bitmap Bureau waiting until all issues were resolved was the right thing to do, because that’s how you earn the trust of your customers: Things don’t always go as planned, but you get what you expected to pay for. And I think that’s especially true when it comes to the price of Neo Geo cartridges that have to be expensive due to the hardware required to make them.
So it’s fair if you’re angry about the delays, but I’m personally happy I’ll be getting a quality cartridge that’s safe to use on my Neo Geo.
